Our food ingredients portfolio spans cereals, starches, coconut oil, dairy, palm oil, rapeseed oil, soy oil, sugar, coffee, tea, vegetables, and herbs. As the LCA Lead, you’ll lead the development and application of Life Cycle Assessment methodologies tailored to Unilever’s direct supply chain. Your work will inform procurement strategies and Scope 3 emissions roadmaps across both FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) and non-FLAG decarbonisation agendas. This is a global role requiring close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver robust agricultural and product footprints. You will work closely with the Regenerative Agriculture regional programme leads, the Climate Procurement team, and the Impact & Assurance team. **Key responsibilities include:****REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Master’s or PhD in Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Ecology, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, or related field.* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment ) and agricultural systems, ideally within industry.* Hands-on experience modelling agricultural emissions and on-farm practices across diverse contexts.* Familiarity with soil carbon sequestration modelling.* Strong analytical capabilities using Excel and LCA software are required. Programming skills in Python or R are valuable for scaling analysis across our portfolio, but not essential for candidates with exceptional LCA expertise.* Experience with science-based target (SBTi) and net-zero frameworks.* Experience with spatial analysis or geographic information systems (GIS) to inform supply chain mapping, spatial variability across our sourcing contexts, and the development of regional LCAs.
