Overview

SOFTSWISS continues to expand the team and is looking for a Legal Officer.

We are looking for a proactive and creative legal professional with experience or a strong interest in the iGaming industry to join our team in the role of Legal & Compliance Officer. This position lies at the intersection of regulatory compliance and legal operations within the dynamic world of iGaming.

Purpose of the role: The Senior Legal Officer will be a key member of our iGaming team, responsible for driving day‑to‑day legal operations and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines hands‑on legal expertise with people management, including leading a small team and partnering closely with internal stakeholders. This position is designed with a clear growth path toward a Deputy Head of Legal role, offering the opportunity to take on broader leadership responsibilities as the company continues to expand.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle of legal entity setup, oversee their ongoing management, and ensure compliance across various jurisdictions.
  • Lead and coordinate licensing applications with relevant regulatory bodies in the iGaming sector.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate intra‑company and external contracts, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Participate in the establishment and improvement of B2B compliance processes, including client Due Diligence (DD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, ensuring all operational activities meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to monitor and verify client documentation and compliance status.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams including AML, finance, and operations to provide legal guidance and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor changes in iGaming laws and regulations to keep the company’s practices up‑to‑date.
  • Support management with legal advice on corporate governance, contracts, and risk management.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal Specialist or Counsel, ideally within the iGaming or tech/software industry.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance processes, corporate law, regulatory frameworks relevant to iGaming.
  • Hands‑on experience with legal entity formation and license application procedures.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for intra‑company and commercial contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Law or equivalent qualification; additional certifications related to compliance, anti‑money laundering (AML), or gaming law will be an advantage.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Russian language is a plus.
