Job Description

The role supports a leading international financial services organization as a Legal Entity Controller in Warsaw. Reporting to the Head of Finance EMEA in London, the controller leads financial reporting for two Asian legal entities (US GAAP/IFRS) and provides support for a UK‑regulated entity. The position ensures accuracy of financial statements, drives month‑end close, manages statutory filings, and collaborates with auditors and cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly review of Asian entity results, balance sheet and regulatory capital status with European and Asian CFOs.
• Provide assistance with annual budgeting/forecasting and daily/monthly regulatory deliverables (Hong Kong FRR, Singapore Capital Returns).
• Support the Europe Legal Entity Controller with month‑end close activities for Cantor Fitzgerald Europe Limited.
• Be a key liaison with external auditors (EY), managing year‑end audit and statutory filings to strict deadlines.
• Prepare, post and review journals for Asia and European month‑end close, including accruals, prepayments, payroll and cost allocations.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly Singapore GST return and tax invoices.
• Partner with Treasury and Cash Management to develop and evolve existing models for charging out Cash Capital and Cost of Equity.
• Drive forward and coordinate the liquidation and dissolution of redundant entities as well as restorations where appropriate.
• Monitor control account/suspense/wash accounts and manage resolution of breaks pre‑month end.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 2–3 years post‑qualification experience in financial services (broking or trading).
• Prior experience in a legal entity control position.
• Strong academic background and good career progression to date.
• Control mentality coupled with excellent accounting, analytical and reporting skills.
• Exposure to complex reporting issues with demonstrable knowledge of consolidation accounting, impairment assessments and minority interest accounting.
• Pro‑active attitude and ability to take responsibility, make decisions and gain respect quickly.
• Process analysis skills to identify vulnerabilities and control weaknesses.
• Ideally an understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with professionals throughout the organisation.
• Flexibility and a willingness to contribute to an exciting, dynamic and multi‑cultural business.
