Galileo is a fast-growing renewable energy developer, investor and operator , currently in the very dynamic start-up phase. Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 15 GW of solar PV, onshore wind , offshore wind and storage projects across 10 markets in Europe.
We are looking for our new Legal Counsel (Poland) to provide the Polish team with strategic legal guidance across multiple business areas (project development, EPC, and shortly construction and operation of renewable assets) and to support key partnerships, managing and supervising a variety of regulatory, corporate and commercial matters. Reporting to the General Counsel, this person will be based in Poznań (regular travels to Wrocław will be requested).
What you’ll do:
- Examining legal issues, provide high quality legal and strategic advice on day-to-day support to the management and Legal & Compliance group function;
- Provide legal support and coordination for the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including joint ventures;
- Participate and provide assistance in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (e.g., intercompany, with clients, landlords, suppliers, partners), ensuring compliance with group policies and practices;
- Oversee governance aspects for the Polish entities of the Group, including joint ventures;
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance of Polish entities and projects;
- Support ordinary and extraordinary corporate activities and provide advice in relation to day-to-day topics (e.g., IT, privacy, compliance, labour);
- Support and manage external advisers (e.g., lawyers, public notaries, translators, etc.) in a cost-effective way;
- Manage and perform ad-hoc cross-functional projects initiated by the company, supporting the different members of the management team and interacting with all relevant team members within the Group at the direction of the General Counsel.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- At least 8 years of previous work experience in primary law firms or industrial companies in the energy, infrastructure or real estate industry, with international exposure;
- Strong experience in corporate and commercial Polish law and practice; familiarity with contracting scheme for energy projects will be a strong plus;
- Proficiency-level Polish and English language skills, with skills in other European languages considered an important plus;
- Ability to work independently and strategically, advising senior management and stakeholders;
- Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneously multiple tasks, strong at problem-solving, proactive and critical thinking;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, discretion in treating with confidential information.
