We are looking for a talented Legal Counsel to join Nordea Group Legal team and contribute to our agenda, focusing especially on topics related to contractual services, including drafting and negotiation of agreements for complex financial products and services. About our team

You will join Group Legal Poland where we provide legal support in strategically important areas. We support Nordea Branch Poland, but also the overall operations of Nordea bank. The areas of our assistance include corporate governance, commercial contracts and sourcing support, data privacy, people & reward matters as well as financial crime prevention, across all bank and group functions within several EU/EEA jurisdictions. Currently we are expanding our legal services to support the stakeholders within Nordea Group with regard to various types of agreements, including those relating to financial instruments.

What you’ll be doing

As a Legal Counsel, you will be providing high quality legal services in close cooperation with other lawyers across Nordea, in a challenging and evolving regulatory and business environment.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, predominantly relating to various types of financial products (e.g. derivatives, securities), as well as other types of legal documents relating to financial market participants or bank’s products and services
  • Acting as a trusted partner and adviser to the stakeholders throughout the organisation
  • Participating in cross-unit and cross-country projects as a legal representative
  • Assessing and interpreting the upcoming legal regulations
  • Providing legal trainings to our stakeholders and colleagues

Your profile and background:

  • A few years of relevant work experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements (preferably relating to the financial products and services) in English language working environment
  • Previous work experience in an international law firm, in-house legal department of a bank/credit institution or international company from the financial industry
  • Experience in providing cross-country legal support would be an asset
  • Motivation to expand knowledge on complex financial products, new areas of law, including foreign legal systems
  • Fluency in English and Polish, both verbally and in writing
