British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel in Warsaw

We are looking for a Legal Counsel/Senior Lawyer who is an expert in their field and ready to drive business success by supporting key functions in the simplest and most effective way.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide Ongoing Legal Advice: Support the company’s commercial activities by preparing and reviewing contracts, offering legal opinions and recommendations, and actively participating in negotiations.
• Approve Packaging and Product Labels: Review and approve packaging and product labels, resolving any related issues promptly.
• Oversee Corporate Duties: Ensure the local corporate obligations are effectively managed and performed.
• Manage Legal Office Operations: Lead and coordinate the work within the legal office for optimal efficiency.
• Support Project Teams and Sales Initiatives: Collaborate with project teams, sales structures, and consumer activations to provide legal guidance and support.
• Drive Compliance and Regulatory Efforts: Champion compliance and regulatory initiatives to maintain the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct.

What are we looking for?

• Higher Education in Law.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as an in-house lawyer.
• Practical knowledge of civil law, addling commercial activities, competition law and regulations governing consumer rights.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prepare clear, actionable recommendations.
• Interest in using new technologies in legal work.
• Proven track records in supporting project teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Polish.
• Experience in the industry: food, chemical, pharmaceutical or consumer electronics is highly desirable.
