Overview

We are currently looking for Legal Counsel who will provide expert legal support in the negotiation, drafting, and management of complex IT contracts within an international environment. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, particularly DORA, EU Data Act, NIS2 and the EU AI Act. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic legal advisor to the business, helping navigate regulatory risks and contractual obligations across jurisdictions.

How you will get the job done

Drafting and negotiating IT contracts: lead the legal review, negotiation, and execution of complex IT agreements, including AI, SaaS, cloud, licensing, and outsourcing contracts across jurisdictions
Ensuring the company’s operations and contractual frameworks comply with DORA, Data Act, NIS2 and the EU AI Act, advising on legal risks and implementation strategies
Operating at the intersection of IT law, data protection and emerging tech regulation, with a focus on insurance market services and international digital services
Providing high-level legal input on risk allocation, regulatory exposure and contract structure, influencing decisions on service delivery, and compliance posture in the Group
Working closely with internal stakeholders in ET&S, ERGO Group and external counsels

Skills and experience you will need

Fluency in English
Master’s degree in Law, preferably with specialization in IT law, commercial law, or EU regulatory frameworks
Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience in an international legal environment, ideally within insurance, banking, financial services, or global IT companies
Proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex IT contracts (e.g. SaaS, cloud, outsourcing), with strong understanding of risk allocation and service delivery models
In‑depth familiarity with DORA, the EU AI Act, Data Act, NIS2 and related compliance obligations across jurisdictions
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical business solutions and risk mitigation strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, cross‑functional teams and external counsel in an international context
