Lease Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of lease accounting in line with IFRS and JSOX standards. This role will assist with governance, controls, and complex projects, while driving continuous improvement in processes.
- Ensure timely execution of end-to-end lease accounting process
- In order to: deliver accurate and compliant accounting for leases in accordance with IFRS 16 and JSOX requirements, including initial recognition, modifications, terminations and monthly postings.
- Assist Team Lead and Experts in governance of processes and controls In order to maintain a strong control environment, ensure adherence to internal policies and support compliance with audit and regulatory standards
- Support Experts in complex and non-standard activities to contribute to successful completion of ad hoc projects, audit queries, system testing and implementation of new lease accounting functionalities
- Perform reconciliations and reporting for lease-related accounts in order to ensure accuracy of lease liability and ROU asset balances, timely resolution of discrepancies and proper documentation for internal and external audits
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, strengthen controls and support automation opportunities within lease accounting operations
- University degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).
- Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
- At least 1 year of experience in a multinational company, preferably in a Shared Service Centre with exposure to multifunctional roles (e.g., GL/AR/AP/CM).
- Experience with lease accounting or fixed assets is a plus.
- Familiarity with month-end close activities, reconciliations and audit support.
- Proficient SAP user; knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and Lease Accounting by SAP CLM is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial data interpretation skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in interpreting lease agreements.
