Mission

As a Leadbuyer for Capex, you contribute to the development and implementation of Aperam’s global Capex purchasing strategy, while focusing on the Global perimeter of the Services & Solutions and Aperam Recycling divisions. In close collaboration with your business stakeholders and the Capex Global Category Manager, you drive value creation, innovation, and risk mitigation to support the execution of strategic industrial investments and maintain Aperam’s competitiveness.

Responsibilities

As a trusted Leadbuyer, you are accountable for the overall performance of your Capex portfolio, be it on financials, quality, delivery time and its related risk management. You develop efficient relationships with & influence the supplier’s ecosystem as well as your business partners (key users, head of platforms, divisions, sites) as prime stakeholders.

  • Managing autonomously the entire process for Capex projects
  • Acting as a key interface with strategic suppliers and building long‑term partnerships with your stakeholders
  • Working hand‑in‑hand with project and technical teams to align on specifications, budgets, and procurement timelines
  • Shaping the purchasing strategy for your sub‑categories in line with the overall Capex roadmap, incorporating cost analysis, market benchmarks, and innovation opportunities
  • Ensuring supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential risks or deviations, and proactively resolving issues
  • Contributing to annual Capex budget exercises by consolidating procurement forecasts and following up on actual spending
  • Keeping an eye on supplier risk profiles and market dynamics, and putting in place mitigation plans where needed
  • Supporting compliance by promoting the use of purchasing tools and processes, and making sure the Group Purchasing Policy is applied
  • Sharing knowledge and aligning with other leadbuyers across Aperam, as well as benchmarking externally to identify best practices and new levers.

Profile

  • You are driven and take ownership of your area of responsibility, working with a high level of autonomy

  • You are environmentally aware with an innovative and forward‑thinking mindset, willing to think outside the box
  • As a coaching leader, you support and develop your team, understanding the value of people and collaboration
  • You bring technical expertise in purchasing processes and negotiation
  • You communicate fluently in English and at least one other Aperam language (French / Dutch / German)

Background

  • You hold a degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in strategic purchasing, including a minimum of 3 years in Capex purchasing management.
  • You have a proven track record of building processes and structures from scratch and are motivated by the opportunity to drive change in a dynamic environment.

  • You are mobile continentally up to 30% of the time
