About the project 
Join the Global Design Team within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) at HSBC, where we create best-in-class experiences that make a difference in customers' lives. We align business strategy with user needs across channels and touchpoints to shape the future experience for affluent customers across the globe. 
 As a Lead Visual Designer in the UI/Visual Design team, you will play a key role in defining 
and elevating the visual language of our digital products. You will create high-quality visual assets-including icons, pictograms, illustrations, and motion design-that enhances usability, strengthen brand identity, and bring clarity and delight to user experiences. 
 In this role, you will ensure visual consistency and help translate complex ideas into simple, engaging visuals that make a meaningful impact in customers’ lives. 
Your responsibilities 
- Design high-quality visual assets including icons, pictograms, illustrations, and other supporting graphics for use in digital products. 
- Develop and maintain a consistent illustration style and guide others in executing within that framework. 
- Create subtle motion graphics and animated assets to enhance storytelling and product interactions. Collaborate with developers to bring these to life. 
- Collaborate with UX, content, research, and engineering teams to shape holistic experiences. 
- Ensure alignment with HSBC’s design system, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines. 
- Keep evolving our visual design language, ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints. 
- Participate in critiques and reviews, giving and receiving actionable feedback. 
- Collaborate across markets to understand cultural nuances and regulatory requirements that impact user experience. 
Our requirements 
- A portfolio showcasing exceptional visual craft, with a focus on iconography, illustration and UI-ready assets. 
- Experience with motion design, micro-interactions, and prototyping is desirable. 
- Experience in establishing and maintaining icon and illustration libraries at scale 
- Strong communication and storytelling skills–you can articulate design rationale clearly and advocate for visual quality. 
- Experience in leading and mentoring other designers, providing feedback and guidance. 
- Passion for crafting meaningful, beautiful experiences and continuously raising the visual bar. 
- Ability to lead through influence and contribute to shaping a strong design culture and to communicate design rationale and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. 
- Basic understanding of UI/UX fundamentals, accessibility, and responsive design.
