Lead VAT Consultant at SimCorp

The Group VAT Consultant will provide day‑to‑day tax support to stakeholders across all markets, ensuring full compliance with local and international indirect tax rules and leading projects such as SAP implementation and the travel tool implementation across EMEA, the Americas and APAC.

Why this role is important to us

The Group VAT Consultant is an integral part of our tax team, a specialized subset within Group Finance. The team oversees tax and transfer pricing compliance and strategy across more than 40 SimCorp entities. Based in Warsaw, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape SimCorp’s indirect tax strategy and ensure compliance across our global operations.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Establish consistent processes for the group entities to ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT returns in all jurisdictions.
  • Develop and implement VAT processes and controls to embed our tax policy in local operations.
  • Provide timely support to stakeholders—including business, legal and finance teams—on indirect tax compliance matters across various countries.
  • Act as the VAT lead to drive projects such as SAP implementation and the new travel tool.
  • Manage indirect tax audits in various jurisdictions in close collaboration with local financial controllers and the Tax Team.
  • Work closely with Group Finance, subsidiary finance teams, external tax advisors and tax authorities to provide tax advice in all matters of relevance for indirect tax compliance and risk management.
  • Keep up‑to‑date with indirect tax legislation and assess its impact on the group.

What we value

  • Minimum 6 years of international tax experience in industry or consultancy with emphasis on working with multinational groups for various markets.
  • Relevant education such as a law degree, CPA, economics or training from tax administration or a combination thereof.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid experience with VAT and other indirect taxes on international services, with comprehensive understanding of related topics that affect day‑to‑day business operations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver results such as SAP implementation.
  • Owner mindset with a proactive approach to driving changes and improvements in tax practices.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP) and master data.
  • General accounting/finance skills are beneficial.
  • Advanced communication skills, with fluency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and other MS Office tools.
