About the project
Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team is responsible for developing and implementing Group-wide strategic programs across HSBC aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and delivery of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML). Key areas of focus include responsible development practices, common platforms and capabilities, AI technology enablement, governance, and the Group-wide AI Strategy.
HSBC is enhancing the utilisation of Generative AI to boost colleagues' productivity and increase their effectiveness, ensuring a controlled and responsible approach. We are looking for an UI / UX Lead to play a crucial role in shaping the user experience strategy and implement the interface design of an LLM-based productivity tool. This role combines rapid prototyping, collaborating across teams, user feedback, and design excellence to develop the best-in-class colleague productivity app at the bank.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement a user experience strategy that aligns with the objectives of the LLM-based productivity tool, ensuring it meets colleagues’ needs and drives productivity.
- Lead the UI/UX team in rapidly prototyping features and designs from high-level requirements to support agile prioritisation, discussion, and delivery.
- Establish design standards by applying customer experience best practices, libraries, and frameworks to produce high-quality code and deliver an exceptional user experience.
- Maintain rigorous standards of design excellence, ensuring interfaces are both functional and visually intuitive, and report on UX impact using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and users to deliver design solutions aligned with business objectives and user needs, utilising JIRA, Kanban boards, and CICD pipeline to ensure structured collaboration with Technology and Product teams.
- Collaborate with the Adoption & Engagement Lead to leverage user feedback to gain insights into requirements, trends, and habits, to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative design practices to maintain the application as a best-in-class productivity tool.
- Lead, inspire, and develop the UX/UI design team by fostering a collaborative culture, motivating high-quality output, and supporting junior UI developers globally through effective delegation and structured feedback.
Our requirements
- A strong portfolio showcasing leadership in UI/UX design, including experience with web applications, design systems, and user research.
- Experience with user research methods to inform design decisions.
- Experience in developing and understanding of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI/GAI).
- Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in leading UX teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to users and engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong ability to analyse data and translate insights into strategic actions and design.
- Proactive attitude, self-motivated, goal-oriented, and passionate about staying up to date on the latest technology advancements and their benefits to financial services.
