Lead / Senior Automation Specialist

Your new roleWe are looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our IT infrastructure team. Ideal candidates will play a key role in the design, development and continuous improvement of our infrastructure services. These positions are responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and scalability of critical infrastructure components through expert-level support and hands-on engineering. Working with architects, operations and application teams, you will contribute to the delivery of reliable and secure infrastructure that meets business needs and compliance requirements.
Main responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom applications and components using .NET technologies, Salesforce platform, and Umbraco web CMS platform.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop automation scripts using appropriate tools and languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
- Design self-service workflows and interfaces that are user-friendly and effective.
- Create and maintain documentation for all automation processes and self-service platforms.
- Deploy and configure automation tools and self-service platforms.
- Monitor automation systems for performance issues and resolve them promptly.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure ongoing reliability and security.
- Collaborate with IT & business teams to understand their needs and provide automated solutions.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for users and IT staff on new automation and self-service tools.
- Act as a point of contact for automation-related inquiries and support.
- Analyze existing IT processes to identify inefficiencies and areas suitable for automation.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance overall IT service delivery.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in IT automation and self-service.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of automation solutions.
- Generate regular reports on automation performance, usage, and impact.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive further improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security, quality, and regulatory requirements.
What you39ll need to succeed
- Strong understanding of process automation methodologies (e.g., RPA, scripting, APIs, orchestration).
- High level of proficiency in building automated solutions.
- Experience with automation platforms such as [insert technology.
- Solid scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible) is an advantage.
- Ability to understand and map complex processes and workflows.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and concepts (e.g., [insert technology).
- Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
- Understanding of compliance requirements such as GxP, GDPR, and auditability in automated solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into business value.
- Agile mindset and experience with working in cross-functional teams or agile teams is a plus.
- High level of proficiency in IT Operations, infrastructure, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional and component teams.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to translate technical topics into business context.
