Welcome to Group Revenue Risk

You’ll be part of the Revenue Risk - Assets and Trading team within Group Revenue Risk. Together with your colleagues, you’ll play an important role in safeguarding the financial risks from fluctuations in energy prices and production volumes from Ørsted’s operating assets (wind farms, solar photovoltaic and power plants). As a department, we have recently embarked on a journey to become the best‑in‑class 2nd line of defense function, and we have high ambitions for raising our risk management maturity by improving the processes and governance related to e.g., risk identification, risk assessment and risk monitoring. Your governance expertise and analytical mindset will be central in designing and implementing a robust risk framework for price and volume risk, challenging commercial decisions, and ensuring applicable and action‑oriented risk reporting.

We have a diverse spectrum of stakeholders and work closely with colleagues in Finance, Trading and 1st line risk management functions. To support and challenge them, we must have a comprehensive understanding of the risks from the underlying business and how these are managed by the 1st line of defense functions. This implies getting familiar with trading and hedging strategies, understanding the price structures of our assets, and assessing the impact on Ørsted’s overall risk appetite.

You’ll play an important role in:

• leading the implementation plan for improving our risk management maturity related to revenue risk e.g. by developing, planning, and executing on risk governance review cycles and projects
• establish and maintain solid governance for hedging and trading limits, including breach handling and escalation
• maturing frameworks and processes to ensure clarity in risk accountability, roles and responsibilities and compliance with Board‑approved limits
• providing independent risk assessments and analysis to challenge commercial decisions and safeguard key financial metrics
• support clear, high‑quality risk reporting to senior management and other stakeholders.

To succeed in the role, you:

• have strong expertise in designing and implementing risk governance frameworks and processes from the financial sector, at an energy company, or similarly
• have proven experience with financial risk management, ideally from within a three‑lines‑of‑defense setup
• are comfortable providing independent risk advice and challenging decisions
• are motivated by building and improving governance processes end‑to‑end
• can analyze and communicate complex matters clearly to stakeholders across the organization
• thrive in a collaborative, dynamic and cross‑functional environment with a diverse stakeholder landscape
• experience from a second line function (e.g. in the financial sector) is an advantage.
