Our growth over the coming few years is expected to be exponential across all our divisions and software platforms, hence we’re looking for a skilled Lead QA Engineer who will be able to help us in implementing and leading QA automation engineering (people, process, tools).

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Collaborating with the Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, DevOps and other QA Automation Engineers to contribute to the testing of new product features, using technologies/tools including: Testing Tools: SpecFlow, Postman, Playwright, Swagger, Selenium Bug Tracking: Azure DevOps Documentation: Confluence, flowcharts
  2. Leading and mentoring a team of QA Automation Engineers
  3. Analysing business requirements, internal designs and non-functional requirements and estimating user stories collaboratively with the team
  4. Advocating and continuing to maintain an automated Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) approach with all software solutions
  5. Writing and executing robust test scripts, attaining a high percentage of test automation and regression within CI/CD pipelines
  6. Conducting manual exploratory testing and maintaining a clear manual test plan for any test scenarios that cant be automated
  7. Reviewing logs and databases as part of the testing process, and automating this where possible
  8. Following industry best practices

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Professional level (6+ years’ experience) as an automation QA within a modern software environment
  2. Strong experience with REST APIs and API testing strategies
  3. Strong BDD experience with a high focus on test automation vs manual testing
  4. Strong understanding of a balanced Test Pyramid with separation of unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  5. Experience implementing QA tests within a Microservices architecture
  6. Able to describe differences and identify candidates for Unit, Integration & E2E tests
  7. Experience improving, refactoring, and rewriting tests
  8. Experience ensuring that tests run within CI/CD pipelines
  9. Experience with SpecFlow
  10. Experience with C# .Net Core
  11. Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  12. Experience in agile methodologies specifically Kanban, SCRUM

Desired skills & experience:

  1. Previous people management experience would be advantageous
  2. Payments, Retail or Leisure industry experience would be advantageous
  3. Cloud experience (AWS, or Azure considered) would be advantageous
