Our growth over the coming few years is expected to be exponential across all our divisions and software platforms, hence we’re looking for a skilled Lead PHP Developer who will be able to help us in implementing and leading various projects for our current and future clients.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

1. Working as a senior software engineer in PHP/Symfony projects
2. Leading, coaching and mentoring other engineering team members
3. Applying and maintaining software development best practices within the team
4. Overseeing and executing process improvements and the development of policies, procedures, methods, and tools in support of delivery.
5. Leading daily development team huddles for discussions on developments/progress
6. Engaging in technical discussions and collaborative problem-solving to devise innovative solutions for complex data handling and visualization issues
7. Collaborating directly with the Frontend team to ensure coherent implementation and functionality
8. Assisting front-end team delivery of React front-end by liaising and coordinating back-end API work accordingly
9. Managing tasks and sprints in JIRA, ensuring timely project progress.

Desirable attributes and experience:

1. 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products in PHP/Symfony
2. Experience of modern engineering principles, practices and processes such as SOLID, OOP, MVC, REST, CD/CI, TDD, BDD and DDD
3. Experience of agile methodology (SCRUM, KANBAN)
4. Experience of version control software (git/bitbucket)
5. Experience in automated testing tools and frameworks (PHPUnit)
6. Solid understanding of relational database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle).
7. Experience in a leadership position responsible for owning the direction of a software development team.
