We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer to join our project in the banking industry.

The objective of the project is to build and roll out an application that collects, manages, and distributes the Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) to the back-office systems that need those payment instructions.

Your tasks

  • Lead technical solutions discussions with stakeholders
  • Unblock the team in the delivery pipeline
  • Help team to develop their skills
  • Ensure quality of delivered work from technical, security and best practices view
  • Perform backend development and code reviews across new and existing applications.
  • Participate in SCRUM events, technical analysis, and discussions
  • Be proactive and take initiative
  • Work closely with your colleagues and communicate
  • Engage in technical analysis and discussions to provide input on system architecture and design decisions
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues or inefficiencies in the codebase
  • Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the front-end and back-end systems
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development and future maintenance

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years in similar positions
  • Ability to define the technical critical path and take necessary steps to deliver it
  • Ownership and multitasking
  • Proficiency in Core Java (V11-V17) and Advanced Java (JDBC, Memory management, Concurrency)
  • Experience with the Spring framework, particularly Spring Boot (versions 2-3)
  • Knowledge of JPA (Hibernate) and RDBMS, specifically SQL skills and optimization in Oracle
  • Previous work with messaging for communication purposes
  • Competence in web communication, including REST, OpenAPI specifications (Swagger), and the API First approach
  • Good understanding of GIT and Maven
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture, its communication, and development
  • Comprehension of SCRUM workflow and backend security topics
  • Ability to write high-quality unit and integration tests
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with OpenSearch, Kubernetes, and Ansible
  • Background in build and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Sonar)
  • Participation in geographically distributed technical teams
  • Involvement in technical design processes
