Role
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required, typically with guidance.
Responsibilities
- Design instrumentation for Test RIGs
- Coordinate instrumentation application
- Participate and present or review in technical and program reviews
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects in line with engineering policies and procedures
- Develop specialized knowledge in the discipline; serve as best practice/quality resource; stay aware of latest technical developments
- Understand how own area integrates with others; know factors differentiating in the market
- Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks; analyze data to support recommendations; use multiple internal and limited external sources
- Own instrumentation for the test for a given engine test vehicle; collaborate with supply chain and engineering to resolve problems during all phases of instrument testing
- Ensure compliance with the GE Aviation Engineering Handbook; drive tollgate reviews to ensure requirements are in place and risks are understood
- Coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure instrumentation requirements are understood and in place
Required Qualifications
- Detail oriented
- Instrumentation knowledge for aerospace RIGs
- Solid engineering experience
- Testing knowledge
