Lead Infrastructure Architect

As a Lead Infrastructure Architect , you will be working for our Client, a global financial institution renowned for its innovative compliance IT architecture. You will deliver robust architecture and designs to meet business requirements, critically review designs from other Solutions Architects, and ensure alignment with the overall enterprise infrastructure strategy. This role also involves optimizing the infrastructure portfolio, driving operational improvements, and cost efficiencies across business units, contributing significantly to the evolution and development of the Architecture Practice.

Your main responsibilities:

• Write and review Infrastructure Architecture Designs
• Deliver infrastructure designs for new IT services, leveraging current technologies
• Migrate applications to IaaS/PaaS platforms on internal and external clouds
• Drive greater utilization of virtualization and lower-cost storage
• Migrate away from non-strategic technology platforms
• Determine business requirements and influence solutions towards future state models
• Examine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment options
• Deliver end-to-end technical infrastructure designs ensuring Non-Functional Requirements
• Verify impact on adjacent services/systems and validate deployment models
• Review design and gain approval via architecture governance
• Optimize commercial implications

Youre ideal for this role if you have:

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect
• A system engineering background
• Technical thought leadership in evaluating new technologies to meet business requirements
• Ability to influence key stakeholders to adopt solutions in line with strategy
• Proficiency in data center hardware infrastructure (servers, networking, storage)
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Google GCP, Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure
• Experience with container architecture, including Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus)
• Skills in automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code techniques

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with middleware technologies such as Websphere, Tomcat, Java, Messaging, Application Server, or Web server
• Knowledge of networking (e.g., Cisco/F5 devices, TCP/UDP, Broadcast/Multicast, LAN/WAN, SDN)
• Proficiency in server operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris)
• Experience with server virtualization, such as VMware, Xen, Hyper-V, or KVM
• Familiarity with storage technologies like Pure SAN, EMC SAN, NetApp NAS, CIFS, NFS, or Object storage
• Knowledge of databases, such as Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL data stores
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, HSMs, proxy servers, IDS/IPS, network segmentation tools
• Expertise in Identity Access Management (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, Privileged Access Management tools)
• Skills in high availability and DR techniques such as clustering (VCS & MSCS), data replication, etc.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools like MS Teams, Confluence, Jira
