As a Lead Engineer Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of gas turbine products, solutions, and systems. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, you will strive to make improvements to new and existing products and components. The role requires excellent theoretical knowledge and an established foundation of function skills within mechanical design.

As a Lead Engineer Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing and leading the design, mechanical analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles
  • Adhering projects to business and industry standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements (including mechanical engineering for all products)
  • Leading design activities and reviews to provide technical guidance and to share project-related status updates
  • Developing design concepts and creating 3D models in a CAD environment; creating/reviewing/releasing structural fabrication and machined forging drawings in TCE
  • Ensuring control of the assigned work scope in terms of spent hours, global resource engagement, assignments, budget, and progress
  • Preparing and managing engineering tasks aimed to release engineering parts, drawings, and documentation for the assigned scope of work
  • Collaborating with internal cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and to identify product improvements
  • Providing engineering support to internal teams to assist with activities that span the full technical project life cycle
  • Presenting to leaders in specific technical space and on cross-functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a degree in Engineering and relevant experience in Engineering/Technology
  • Have significant working experience in a similar area of competency (Mechanical Component)
  • Have solid experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Have a good background in CAD Software such as NX
  • Demonstrate team player attitude and inclusiveness
  • Have the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate experience of leading, mentoring, and motivating teams in a technical environment
  • Have problem-solving skills
  • Be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
