Vestas Blades Process Engineering establishes a high-performing engineering organization capable of setting new industry benchmarks in manufacturing excellence. The main purpose is to optimize existing blade manufacturing processes and develop robust, standardized and capable processes for new blade designs and to deliver consistent, high-quality engineering support across all manufacturing sites. The Lay-up Blades process department is responsible for Lay-up process flow, PFMEA, risk assessments, process specs and requirements. It shall also create the process road map for present and future states within Lay-up process, implementing standardization via process optimization to ensure process stability and capability to improve overall business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize production processes within lay-up operations
  • Create the process road map. Analyze AS IS and future state
  • Process standardization and optimization to improve overall business performance (SQDC)
  • Assist and support Process Optimization in the manufacturing sites
  • Use digital tools like digital twins and data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
  • Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen

Qualifications

  • About 6 years of experience in similar roles as described above
  • Master’s degree in manufacturing engineering or other similar fields
  • Experience and knowledge of optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes
  • GB Six Sigma or Advanced Manufacturing Process Analysis
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Self-motivated; result-oriented and possess strong organizational discipline
  • Ability to work with others across cultures and time zones and to engage with stakeholders
  • Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain from a customer perspective
  • Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems

Additional information

Primary work location will be the factory in Goleniów, Poland. Applications are handled on an ongoing basis.
