The Kafka Platform Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across the Kafka Data Streaming Platform in accordance with the overall Informatics technology strategy and principles to help ensure it is fit for its intended purpose. You ensure that the system is designed to run as expected, has built-in observability, balances emergent design and takes a system view across the full value stream.
responsibilities :
Providing strategic consultation to data streaming platform customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as using customer requirements in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies.
Assessing current state of solutions, defining future state needs, identifying gaps and recommending new technology solutions and business execution improvements
Facilitating stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and evaluate technology solutions
Conducting solution architecture research, PoCs, feasibility assessment and facilitating solution application selections in relation to data streaming.
Formulating business and logical data and solution architectures comprising software, network, hardware and integration designs in consultation with the PMs and in accordance with the existing Roche technology landscape.
Conducting impact assessments and mitigation plans
Working closely with Enterprise Architects on defining long term architecture vision, integration patterns and review of technical portfolio.
Creating and owning the Solution Architecture documentation
Developing IT Strategy & Roadmap consistent with the overall strategic needs of the business division in relation to the Data Streaming integration pattern.
requirements-expected :
Bachelors degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study
Ideally 5+ Years of experience as solution/platform architect
Proven track record of managing a Kafka platform including technical roadmap, latest trends, innovations and enterprise adoption
Implementation expertise in data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Amazon MSK, Amazon Kinesis and/or Cloudera Kafka
Senior Expert-level knowledge and experience applying Event/Stream Driven Architecture patterns from design to at least one enterprise implementation including Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity concepts
Understanding of entire data lifecycle focused on data integration, data ingestion, data security, data privacy, and data analytics
Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, particularly in building scalable and secure architectures.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Excellent English both written and speech
