As a Kafka Infrastructure Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution driving modernization of its real-time data infrastructure. The project focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing high-throughput Kafka environments that support mission-critical applications across multiple regions. You will be part of a globally distributed team responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of a complex messaging platform, while applying automation-first principles to manage infrastructure and reduce operational overhead.

responsibilities :
Administering and operating Kafka components including brokers, zookeepers, Kafka Connect, schema registry, and REST proxy
Creating, maintaining, and securing Kafka topics, access lists, and SSL configurations
Developing and deploying Kafka connectors such as MQ, JDBC, ElasticSearch, FileStream, and JMS
Building custom connectors using Kafka core APIs and managing tasks, converters, and transforms
Monitoring cluster health and setting up observability dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
Automating recurring tasks with scripting or configuration tools like Ansible or Puppet
Performing performance tuning, benchmarking, and proactive issue resolution
Supporting application teams by creating producer/consumer stubs for onboarding
Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders across regions to align deployments and upgrades
Conducting root cause analysis for incidents and documenting findings for continuous improvement
requirements-expected :
Deep understanding of Kafka architecture and hands-on experience managing large-scale Kafka clusters
Proven ability to work with Kafka components including schema registry, KSQL, and control center
Experience administering Kafka connectors and managing high-throughput streaming pipelines
Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible or Puppet
Experience implementing monitoring using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex messaging issues
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in production environments
Ability to write scripts or automation routines to improve operational efficiency
Strong communication skills for interfacing with engineers and technical stakeholders
