Overview

Join to apply for the Junior Validation Engineer role at OPENCHIP & SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES.

Responsibilities

  • Make independent technical contributions to help the team deliver its commitments. In particular: define general testing and validation practices and processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement testing and validation plans and procedures for individual artifacts, considering functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Champion the implementation of test cases, contribute tests when needed, and ensure these become part of the team’s processes. Include functional, regression, system, and performance tests, using manual and/or automated techniques as required.
  • Ensure tests are conducted, either through automated solutions or by proper established procedures.
  • Coordinate testing and validation for artifact qualification, quality assurance and release.
  • Interact with colleagues across projects to unblock issues or reach consensus on technical topics. Specifically: work with software development teams to integrate testing into all steps of the software development lifecycle, identify opportunities for earlier testing, establish processes and best practices, identify automation opportunities, and propose and implement supporting tools and infrastructure.
  • Work with software operations teams to implement, evolve and maintain tooling to support the established processes.
  • Work with the IT department to provision, administer, and monitor the infrastructure needed to support testing and validation tools, and to decide about the purchase of external products.
  • Work with Product teams and the CTO office to define testing and validation plans based on functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Work with Hardware teams to unify testing and validation infrastructure, contribute to HW/SW co‑validation, and advance co‑validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with product, program, strategy, and corporate teams, providing tools that give visibility into key metrics of software artifact quality and testing processes to enable strategic decisions and process improvements.
  • Work with external companies that provide testing and validation services, acting as the interface with their leaders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues through code reviews, bug triaging, and design documents.
  • Contribute to shared team responsibilities (CI failure triaging, documentation, code fixits, rotations).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in the relevant field (1–3 years).
  • Experience with software testing, validation, and release.
  • Experience with quality assurance plan definition.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama).

  • Curious about learning new technologies/stacks.
  • Capable of within- and cross-team collaboration at the technical level.
  • Can-do attitude, proactive and willing to resolve obstacles. Self-aware, self-starter, and self-motivated.
