Job Overview

TE Connectivitys Supplier Development Teams find and develop suppliers to support the strategic sourcing organization in driving incremental performance in supplier quality, delivery, price, and service. They teach new suppliers on how to work with TE (portal access, e-procurement tool usage, TE procedures, etc.). They extend TE Operational Advantage into the supply base to generate continuous improvement in the extended value stream, deliver incremental improvements through supplier development lead projects, and achieve improvement targets specific for supplier development.

Your responsibilities

1. Implement and develop a partner approach with key suppliers.
2. Responsible for supplier’s delivery performance monitoring and improvement.
3. Lead and coordinate supply improvement projects and actions.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, PM, procurement colleagues) to implement BU strategy and adapt it to suppliers.
5. Build and maintain relevant analysis, reporting, and action plans including root cause analysis, curative, corrective and preventive action plans, KPI trackers, etc.
6. Negotiate with suppliers regarding needed improvements/actions, as well as implementation of buffer stocks and consignment programs.
7. Manage bottlenecks and supply crises, and provide support when needed to quality and supply chain teams.
8. Review and optimize Lead Time and MOQs, in collaboration with procurement and planning teams.
9. Verify and challenge forecast accuracy (with PMs and Demand planning), check and confirm capacity/flexibility with top suppliers.
10. Ensure supplier capacity is mapped and measured for most critical suppliers, to feed the SIOP process.
11. Travel to plants and suppliers in Europe (20 to 30% of the time).

What your background should look like:

1. 3+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, quality, or procurement.
2. Supplier management & strong negotiation skills – experience in one of the following industries preferred: Automotive / Appliance / Aerospace / FMGC.
3. Lean / continuous improvement proven track records, as well as knowledge of related tools and methodologies.
4. Experienced with Production Run Rate and value stream mapping preferred.
5. Very strong analytical and computer skills (including SAP and Excel).
6. Ability to take initiative, propose solutions, and think “outside of the box.”
7. Ability to influence and take decisions, critical thinking, and curiosity.
8. Team player and “can-do” attitude.
9. Positive attitude, sense of humor, and solid dose of pragmatism will be a plus.
