Junior Professionals – based in Luxembourg

Apply for the Junior Professionals – based in Luxembourg role at the European Investment Bank (EIB). The EIB’s Operations Directorate (OPS) is seeking graduates to join its team at headquarters in Luxembourg as part of its Graduate Programme.

About the Role

We are recruiting Junior Professionals to take on operational roles within OPS. Selected candidates will receive a 3‑year contract, with the possibility to extend up to 4 years, and may move between OPS teams after 12–18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification, appraisal, approval and closing of suitable projects to support the bank’s business plan.
  • Draft client briefings, reports, presentations and contribute to external communication and institutional events.
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational support to the team.
  • Undertake financial analysis and due diligence on projects to develop impact.
  • Provide analytics, research or other professional support as required.
  • Accompany senior colleagues to client‑facing meetings and negotiations abroad, on occasion.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum Bachelor) in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related field. A Master’s is an advantage.
  • Not more than 2 years of professional experience at the time of application, preferably in a financial institution, international organisation, public or private entity.
  • Experience in a lending environment and knowledge of financial analysis are considered assets.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (level 5 of INTER institution, B1.2 CEFR). Good command of the other language is also required; native proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
