Brown Brothers Harriman is recruiting a Junior Operations Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that new accounts are set up properly and maintained effectively on BBH&Co. systems. You will develop an in‑depth knowledge of BBH&Co.’s business lines, subcustodian network, and systems such as the Unified Account File (UAF), Keystone, and Fircosoft. You will assist internal clients in the account opening process and keep them updated on the status of their account openings and maintenance. The Client Account Specialist will work closely with the Client Service Group to provide our internal clients with quick and accurate account set‑ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up new accounts, make changes to existing accounts and close accounts that are no longer needed.
• Perform maintenance functions on existing accounts.
• Escalate problem items.
• Monitor and identify incomplete or inconsistent information that may result in risk to BBH or our clients; resolve discrepancies and execute transactions.
• Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues in order to minimize risk and exposure.
• Provide superior client service.
• Communicate as part of a team.
• Understand how the function impacts the firm and the big picture.
• Understand BBH’s systems and workflows beyond the immediate team and use this knowledge to suggest process improvements that benefit the department.
• Assist the team in developing and implementing process improvements that reduce risk and/or increase productivity.

Desired Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated PC skills.
• Ability to identify, escalate and resolve problems.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to multi‑task.
• Team‑oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
