Responsibilities

• Coordinate specific activities with a construction crew in compliance with project specifications to ensure efficient performance while respecting HSE and Quality procedures.
• Assume overall responsibility during your shift for work and the construction crew if a 1st Assistant is not assigned, under the supervision of the Offshore Construction Manager.

Tasks

• Assist the 1st Assistant or Offshore Construction Manager with interdisciplinary coordination of activities on board.
• Supervise construction crew, including foremen and supervisors, across various disciplines to meet quality and safety standards.
• Keep the 1st Assistant and Offshore Construction Manager informed of potential issues and construction progress.
• Coordinate with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer, Vessel Equipment Engineer, and subcontractor supervisors as needed.
• Ensure adherence to the Permit-to-Work system and conduct daily Toolbox Talks and JSAs as required.
• Motivate the construction crew regarding health, safety, and environmental awareness.
• Ensure compliance with Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures to perform activities safely.
• Report incidents and near-misses promptly.
• Provide construction reports at the end of each shift.
• Assist the Vessel Field Engineer with project equipment, consumables, and operations of the stinger and JLT.
• Verify that rigging gear is within date and properly marked.
• Report directly to the 1st Assistant or Offshore Construction Manager if the former is not assigned.
