Job Description:

The ISO unit of Verisk is looking for a Pricing Data Analyst Team Lead to support our large team of actuaries and data analytics experts, who create innovative analytic products based on our unique database of over 21 billion records spanning more than twenty lines of insurance.

Responsibilities:

1. Grow and lead a team of analysts (developing, motivating, empowering staff, and providing feedback).
2. Communicate clearly about technical concepts, to your team, and to business decision-makers.
3. Support creating an innovation culture. Promote innovation. Oversee and support the team to envision, design and implement best practices.
4. Organize and assign work in consideration of team talents and ensure balanced workloads.
5. Help staff define and understand their roles, including how they contribute to the team and organizational strategy.
6. Understand and take ownership of our business processes, and recommend improvements in data management, error identification, quality control, process automation, or analytic techniques.
7. Create, modify and execute computer programs to extract, transform and summarize data, as input to derive analyses and reports.
8. Work closely with stakeholders to set goals for the team.

Qualifications:

1. At least 3 years of work experience related to analysis and/or data management. Experience in actuarial/insurance/risk management is not needed but will be a strong asset.
2. Practical knowledge of SQL is a must. Knowledge of at least one programming language: Python (preferred), R, SAS, or other.
3. Experience in mentoring/overseeing work of junior colleagues.
4. Experience with large (> 100,000 rows) datasets or datasets of mixed quality.
5. Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent organization skills and talent for managing many large and complex datasets.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
