About a role

We are looking for a Junior QA Automation Engineer to join Egnyte. It is an opportunity to grow your testing and automation skills while working with our Desktop Applications team on exciting and innovative features. Working with other QA engineers and software developers, you will ensure the quality of our applications created for Egnyte’s clients, used by hundreds of thousands of users. You will become the guardian of our products quality. As your skills grow, so will your responsibility. We have opportunities for professional growth as our quality engineer. QA Mentors can help you learn how to handle quality in large-scale projects.

What you’ll do

• Develop, maintain and manage our test automation framework in Python, helping us scale our testing efforts.
• Develop test plans and perform manual tests for our desktop applications on both macOS and Windows, identifying and reporting bugs with detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with other QA engineers, developers, UX specialists, and product owners, providing feedback regarding potential risks or dependencies, and coming up with alternative solutions.
• Voice your ideas and have a real impact on how we work and what we work on.
• Learn from your team members and share your knowledge with others.

Your qualifications

Essentials:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably Computer Science or a related field
• At least 2 years of commercial testing experience with elements of automation, preferably on desktop platforms (macOS, Windows)
• Knowledge of Python for test automation and scripting
• Motivated and innovative approach to testing
• Ability to create effective test cases and execute them
• Knowledge of applying testing methodologies (functional and non-functional) to real-life scenarios
• English skills that enable effective communication and task performance
• Passion for solving problems, improving things, and advocating for quality
• Curiosity and strong attention to detail

Nice to have

• Knowledge of networking protocols and tools like Postman, Wireshark, Kibana, BigQuery
• Knowledge of operating system principles and experience in working with public clouds
