SPIS (Service and Parts Information Solutions) is a small portfolio of aftermarket web solutions with over 140,000 users worldwide that supports the Service & Repair and Spare Parts Sale processes with distribution of Service, Standard Time, Tools, and Parts information.

The IT delivery manages requests coming mostly from Volvo Trucks that include development of new functionalities and enhancement of existing ones in the area of Services and Parts.

We are ~40 people organized in 4 SCRUM teams, and we work with the SAFe framework (Scaled Agile Framework) which aims to scale up agile methodologies to other levels of the organization, including business stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Java software development
• Experience with:
• API design and architecture, both synchronous (e.g., REST) and asynchronous (e.g., AMQP)
• DevOps and automation tools (e.g., Git, JIRA), with a strong understanding of CI/CD best practices
• Containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
• Microservices architecture using Spring Boot, with experience in designing and maintaining distributed systems
• Spring framework and Hibernate ORM for enterprise-level applications
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
• Extensive knowledge of SQL, database design, and optimization
• Familiarity with application servers (e.g., JBoss)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical discussions
• Ability to drive technical decisions and collaborate cross-functionally to align development efforts with business needs
