We are looking for a Java Lead to take ownership of key backend initiatives and guide a growing engineering team working on a global Life Sciences platform. This role is ideal for someone who wants to combine hands-on development with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and shaping delivery standards. You will drive the development of core services used by major pharmaceutical companies worldwide, working in a stable organisation with real-world impact.

• Lead the development of core backend services, ensuring architectural consistency, scalability, and reliability.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based components and new product features.
• Make technical decisions, guide system architecture, and participate in solution design discussions.
• Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to refine requirements and plan delivery.
• Work with AWS cloud services, SQL databases, and Tomcat application environments.
• Support production troubleshooting and continuous improvements across the platform.
• Contribute to deployment automation and operational excellence.
