IT Manager

The Role
The IT Manager for the Cargo Solutions Segment in Europe is chiefly responsible for overseeing daily operations for the IT team and aiding key business stakeholders, aligning IT services and solutions with business requirements and goals, and facilitating the execution of IT projects and initiatives. This role reports to the Sr. Director, IT Business Relationship and has a dotted line to the CEO of The Company. The role also supports other operating companies in the Segment in Europe, located in the Netherlands, Germany, and Lithuania.
Operational/Executional Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of IT business system architecture and drive the implementation of various business applications.
- Manage the IT team, which includes Helpdesk and Network Specialists, Solutions Architects, Integrations Engineers, Process Improvement specialists, SAP specialists, Lead Manufacturing Automation Engineer (Crosbi), SAP Configuration Specialist, and external SAP programmers for manufacturing automation and digital transformation (Industry 4.0, IoT).
- Provide IT technical guidance to Operations and Project departments to deliver IT Systems solutions fully aligned with business and operational needs.
- Oversee the change management process along with the implementation of projects.
- Ensure regular and appropriate communication with stakeholders.
- Offer support and training to end-users in identifying and resolving application-related issues as well as proper configuration/use of the applications.
- Deliver a high level of Application support to all internal clients, teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure IT resources are utilized efficiently, and all developments are prioritized and resourced according to business needs.
- Collaborate as one team and provide IT technical guidance to production and project colleagues to deliver IT/Systems solutions/requirements fully aligned with business and operational needs.
- Assess solutions and communicate needs, objectives, and capabilities of each, supporting the evaluation and prioritization of new demands in the IT pipeline.
- Provide support and solutions for the integration of individual systems.
- Maintain awareness of current and proposed technology issues and concerns within operating companies of the Cargo Solutions Segment in Europe and recommend potential solutions to meet expectations and forecasted results.
- Identify business capability and IT service gaps and contribute to improvement efforts.
- Proactively identify, circumvent, avoid, and/or resolve issues and problems that create adverse impacts on projects.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Engage with operating company leadership in the Segment in Europe to understand their business needs, document requirements cohesively, and facilitate recommendations or enhancements.
- Execute a strategy for the development of new technologies.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes, and enhance these processes.
- Design and maintain a framework that guides all information systems integration and development, and a methodology that provides effective and responsible information management practices.
- Understand the core business processes across assigned operating companies and develop an understanding of existing and emerging systems supporting these processes.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor39s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT management for a manufacturing company (including IT service management or IT project management).
- Experience in manufacturing automation/digitalization.
- Familiarity with SAP and integration of business applications with SAP.
- Experience with the full process of IT implementations, from definition through design, build, test, release, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of IT services and solutions, including emerging technologies and trends, industry standards, solution architectures, vendor landscape, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business needs and objectives into IT solutions and strategies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives, prioritize and balance competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in English required.
- Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.
- Experience working in a global organization is a plus.
Optional Skills and Experience (“Nice to Have”)
- Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) certification.
- Experience in partnering with business leaders to present strategic technology opportunities and revise business processes, functions, and procedures that can be enhanced, streamlined, or eliminated.
- Experience in understanding strategic impacts to anticipate changes affecting organizational improvements, technological advancements, and evolving organization needs.
- Experience in developing technology strategy for the organizational ecosystem.
