The IT Project Controller will own and actively drive project controlling for complex PG IT initiatives across the full project lifecycle and multiple IT departments. The role is expected to build up and elevate project controlling as such, driving transparency, clarity, and a strong connection between financials, project planning, and execution. Acting as a close financial partner to IT Project Managers, the position works hands-on and close to delivery, engaging senior stakeholders and independently driving topics forward in an environment that is not always clearly defined. The role combines strong financial expertise with a proactive, execution-focused mindset.
responsibilities :
Own and drive project cost controlling for assigned PG IT projects across the full lifecycle
Build up and continuously improve the project controlling structure, including processes, data flows and financial governance
Steer project financials by actively monitoring actuals vs. budget, forecast, cost to complete and cash flow
Design, implement and own Power BI–based project controlling reporting, supported by Power BI experts
Translate project scope, resources and timelines into clear financial impacts (capex / Opex)
Ensure compliant and accurate financial reporting in line with company policies and IFRS requirements
Challenge assumptions and scenarios, applying sound financial judgment and “what if” thinking
Establish and maintain financial baselines, tracking impacts and variances over time
Actively contribute to and drive forecast, budget and planning cycles
Work closely with IT, Finance, vendors and controlling counterparts to enable fact-based decision making
requirements-expected :
Minimum 4+ years of experience in project controlling, financial controlling or project finance, preferably in IT or transformation environments
Proven ability to work independently and drive topics end to end in a matrix, multinational organization
Strong understanding of project lifecycle, project execution and financial steering
Solid knowledge of IFRS, especially capitalization of IT and software development costs
Experience building or improving project controlling structures, not only operating existing ones
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in an ambiguous environment
Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP); Power BI exposure an advantage
