What you’ll do:

This is an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) position. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President IT - BRM and functionally to the President of the EMEA region. You will align the IT and business strategy, drive business outcomes through IT technology, help define product roadmaps and set IT priorities. You will also partner with the IT Value Chains leaders and product teams to align roadmaps, manage the project portfolio and budget, identify innovative opportunities, drive adoption of IT standard & solutions.  As part of the Electrical - EMEA leadership team you will review IT performance metrics, initiate continuous improvement actions, and drive cost out measures. The position is also expected to contribute to the sector IT strategy, provide emerging technology briefings, ensure operational excellence, drive cyber security and provide executive coaching on digital transformation to business partners.

The Electrical EMEA region has $2.6 billion in sales and consists out of 3 business segments: Critical Systems, Energy Transition and Power Management & Control Components.

The IT Business Relationship manager primary function includes: 

  • Leads business transformation and growth through the development and support of innovative and cost-effective technology solutions while reducing technology debt
  • Promotes technology innovation by identifying and researching new and relevant technologies to support the vision and objectives of the business
  • Establishes, plan, and administer the overall policies and goals for the information technology team, deliver timely results, and hold team members accountable
  • Budget, track and forecast spend, evaluate new technologies, and development efforts (influence build vs. buy decisions, and hosted vs. on-prem vs. hybrid solutions) including governance of IT spend on behalf of customer groups.
  • Provides leadership to ensure infrastructure, application development and support teams work collaboratively with business teams ensuring architecture, security standards, tracking metrics and continuous improvement standards are adhered to    

Qualifications:

Strategic Planning

  • Leads the definition, implementation, and communication of the Operating for Growth IT strategic management framework.
  • Directs the creation and review of a program IT strategy and plans to support the strategic requirements of the Operating for Growth program.
  • Develops, communicates, implements and reviews the processes which embed Operating for Growth strategic alignment in IT execution processes.

Strategy Execution

  • Provides a framework for implementing Operating for Growth IT initiatives.
  • Leads the definition of a portfolio of IT programs and initiatives; maintain a strategic view over the portfolio.
  • Manages IT program interdependencies in support of Operating for Growth business strategies and objectives
  • Leads the on-going monitoring and review of the portfolio for impact on current business activities and the strategic benefit realization. 
  • Implements portfolio governance arrangements and effective reporting.
  • Promotes financial awareness and drives adoption of and adherence to financial management policies and standards.
  • Conceives, maintains and communicates visualizations of the Operating for Growth outcomes and associated benefits

Tactical Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure appropriate customer communication & IT response during significant incidents 
  • Communicate customer issues/needs within IT. Point of contact for customer escalations and complaints
  • Establish business partners priorities & communicate within IT 
  • Accountable for defining business outcomes with sponsors.  Accountable for capturing and reporting business outcomes after reviewing with and gaining approval from project sponsor.
  • Understand details of the regional IT project portfolio (book of business) and develop/manage IT profit plan 
  • Attend Customer Reviews: communicate IT budget status, project status, key IT programs that impact them, key production support issues, communicate within IT key business objectives/initiatives, business strategy/objectives changes, budget changes, prioritization changes
  • Distribute stakeholder survey & develop/track follow-up actions

Internal IT:

  • Disaster Recovery: Ensure plan is at appropriate tier, level of detail and is executable
  • Disaster Recovery: Participate in DR test & validate DR results
  • Internal/External Audit Validation Gaps: Ensure closure through IT and/or operations
  • Restructure IT organization to meet changing business needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, Masters preferred
  • 10+ years of IT Application experience, including direct Project Management experience
  • Proven business acumen and influencing skills
  • Ability to work across organization silo’s to drive business outcomes
  • Advanced to SME understanding of some of the business processes at Eaton or a prior Company
  • Contributor to operational or functional Strategic Plans
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of financial processes and budget control.  
  • Intermediate understanding of business industry trends and impact to operations or functions
  • Advanced to SME understanding of some of Eaton key application(s.)
  • Advanced to SME understanding of integration and impact points of involved systems globally for a division or function.  
  • Advanced understanding of IT industry trends and applicability to operations
