Enterprise Technology/Compliance IT Department brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti-money laundering: transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.
The user base is global covering differing needs of business customers from interactive management information, self-service platforms, improving efficiency by creating and distributing documents automatically, and providing technical and functional expertise on the use of the platform.
The Surveillance IT team is responsible for the software and hardware underpinning the firms’ primary Trade, eComms, Voice and Unauthorised Trading applications. Our clients are internal users from the Regulatory Compliance function, who are responsible for the definition of surveillance techniques and models, the monitoring of alerts, and the management of any subsequent investigations and reports into suspicious activity.
The IT Business Analyst role will sit within the Surveillance programme and its primary responsibility is analysis of business needs and other issues relating to the IT surveillance platform.

,[Complete tasks assigned by the Project/Programme managers to agreed timescales, scope and quality measures., Produce of detailed functional specifications for a development team / vendor to meet the required business outcome., Create specification and documentation of surveillance analytics to a standard which would bear scrutiny by an internal audit or external regulators., Identify, analyse and validate multiple data elements including Trade, Reference and Market data sources., Participate in testing cycles, work with the System Testers to ensure adequate test scripts have been built and run, assist users with acceptance testing., Analyse and create documentation of business requirements.
