We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Industrial Services and Cybersecurity to lead the strategic and operational management of Business Stream (BS) Industrial Services & Cybersecurity in the Polish market. This role includes full P&L responsibility, the management of a team of 50+ employees (including 15 direct reports), and the development of new services and business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, with a strong understanding of the local market, its customers, and services. The role requires proven expertise in industrial inspection and materials testing, infrastructure and project supervision, or energy and environmental services. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding the service portfolio, and building strong relationships with both current and future customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the local BS strategy in alignment with the global one. Develop and execute a growth strategy for the Polish market, focusing on expanding services, increasing profitability, and capturing new business opportunities.
- P&L Accountability: Achieve commercial targets, including sales, costs, and EBIT. Manage and grow a larger P&L, ensuring sustainable financial performance and profitability.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of 50+ employees, including 15 direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring employee engagement. Actively support the development of team members, leveraging their strengths and providing learning opportunities.
- Business Development: Build and launch new services in the Polish market, with a focus on innovation and customer needs. Drive business development and sales efforts to expand the customer base and strengthen relationships with current and future clients.
- Product Portfolio Management: Manage the local BS product portfolio, including innovation, relaunch, and product elimination, in coordination with Regional Management and further stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the implementation of performance processes, IT tools, and quality management systems in line with global and regional policies. Ensure compliance with technical requirements related to relevant accreditation standards.
- Stakeholder Representation: Represent the BS with external organizations, governments, and authorities to strengthen TÜV Rheinland’s presence in the Polish market.
- Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate know-how transfer between Business Fields and ensure its application locally to drive innovation and operational improvements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar leadership role, with a proven track record in managing and growing a business,
- extensive experience in the TIC industry, with a strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas: industrial inspection and materials testing (e.g., NDT, destructive testing, material consultancy), infrastructure and project supervision (e.g., construction supervision, quality control, building material testing), or energy and environmental services (e.g., technical due diligence, safety assessments, environmental impact analysis),
- demonstrated ability to manage P&L effectively, with a focus on driving profitability and ensuring sustainable business growth,
- proven leadership capabilities, with excellent communication and stakeholder management, as well as a proactive and results-oriented mindset,
- fluent English and Polish,
- university degree in an engineering field.
