Our respected Client, a leading European Real Estate Investment, Development, and Management company, is seeking a highly experienced professional to drive business expansion within the defence sector. This strategic role focuses on securing industrial real estate tenants from private defense companies, contractors, and manufacturers, with a particular emphasis on European markets.

About the Role

The Business Development Manager (Defense Sector) will be responsible for developing and executing market entry strategies, leveraging industry relationships, and structuring high-value lease agreements. The role requires a deep understanding of the defence sector, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to engage senior-level decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development & Market Expansion
  • Develop and execute a market strategy to attract defense sector tenants to industrial real estate assets across Europe.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in post-war infrastructure rebuilding efforts.
  • Drive long-term partnerships with private defense contractors, manufacturers, and supply chain operators.
  • Lead high-value lease and partnership negotiations with defense manufacturers, contractors, and logistics operators.
  • Develop competitive leasing models tailored to the needs of defense-sector clients.
  • Work closely with internal real estate, asset management, and legal teams to structure commercial agreements.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the European defense industry landscape.
  • Understand defense supply chain requirements and how they align with industrial real estate needs.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and geopolitical factors impacting defense sector investments.
  • Key Relationship Management
  • Leverage an extensive network of industry leaders, defense contractors, and key decision-makers.
  • Build long‑term relationships with C‑level executives in private‑sector defense firms.
  • Represent the company at defense industry events, trade shows, and government forums.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development within the defense industry or industrial real estate.
  • Proven track record in securing high-value commercial deals with defense contractors, manufacturers, or supply chain operators.
  • Extensive network within private defense companies, contractors, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and deal‑structuring expertise in the defense and industrial sectors.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and defense industry compliance requirements.
  • Experience in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP, Business Development Director, C‑level) in a defence contractor or related private‑sector firm.
