As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for the correct execution of all transport orders including the administrative and operational activities related to haulage and operational suppliers in region East.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a correct and timely flow of communication between the Customer Service department and hauliers/drivers, in order to achieve optimal performance and maximum return.

Key Responsibilities

• Combining loads to optimize the load factor, taking into account loading/unloading areas, client demands, specific load characteristics and load regulations. Focus on Operational Excellence.
• Communicate with drivers/hauliers to achieve optimal service and loading/unloading.
• Reduce “empty kilometers” by combining loads and searching for repositioning loads.
• Optimize cost linked to the activity/region assigned.
• Coordinate rail departure loads with the rail planning team in Zeebrugge.
• Monitor equipment stock levels to ensure capacity and avoid excess storage costs.

Your Profile

• Minimum MBO-level education or equivalent, preferably in logistics.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Good command of English.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Topographical knowledge.
• Customer-oriented mindset.
