Role overview We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer with a specialization in Process Analyzers to join our Engineering Europe Department and Instrumentation Europe team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, including the development of new technologies for Hydrogen production and CO2 capture. As an Instrumentation Engineer - Analyzer Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design (EP-) and construction (C-) phases of our production units for the Air Liquide Group and our third-party customers. From the proposal phase through equipment delivery and unit start-up, you will be integrated into our project execution teams, working in direct contact with clients and multidisciplinary experts. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the precision and reliability of our process measurements. The role is based in Kraków, Poland, and reports to the Discipline Manager, Instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design of process analytics within refinery or petrochemical industrial environments with ability to develop analytical systems.
  • Prepare instrumentation design principles for analysis based on analytical schedules, analyzer process data sheets, and project Basis of Design.
  • Specify Primary and Secondary sampling conditioning systems, including sample transportation.
  • Prepare overall analyzer hook-ups.
  • Develop Engineering Data Sheets for various analyzers.
  • Specify requirements for Analyzer Houses.
  • Work with a diverse range of analyzers: online, in-situ, process, quality, SCS, NDIR, paramagnetic, gas chromatographs (FID, TCD), CEMS, mass spectrometry, pH/conductivity, moisture, dew point, IR, and others.
  • Innovate and collaborate with R&D on novel analytical solutions for new and demanding applications.
  • Manage technical requisitions for Analyzer’s package, carry out bidding process, PO and Vendor drawings validation after PO.
  • Coordinate detailed design activities and essential interfaces with other systems.
  • Verify project documentation for completeness and compliance with Air Liquide E&C standards, branch and local regulations, contract requirements.
  • Participate actively in inspections for analyzers.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of E&C standards (potentially).

Requirements / MATCH

  • Proven experience in designing process analytics within refinery or petrochemical industrial environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various analytical technologies, including:
  • Stream/sample composition analysis (e.g., H2S, total sulphur, CO, CH4, CnHm, O2 in fuel gas, pH, conductivity, opacity, moisture, dew point, density).
  • Online, in-situ, process, and quality analyzers.
  • SCS, NDIR, paramagnetic, gas chromatographs (FID, TCD), CEMS, and other specialized analyzers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration in a multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Polish is a plus.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Poland.
