Offer Description

Conducting research in the area of theoretical particle physics, with an emphasis on the phenomenology of particle colliders and weak boson scattering, at the highest international level; building and developing a research team; attracting third-party funding; participating and cooperating in activities organized by the Division of Theoretical Physics (NO4).

Requirements

Research Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

  • PhD and habilitation degree
  • publication history in the topics of: (i) theoretical particle physics (including phenomenology); (ii) phenomenology of weak boson scattering; and (iii) development of Monte Carlo simulation tools
  • a history of successfully obtaining external financing
  • experience in organizing and conducting research in international cooperation
  • experience in organization of scientific conferences

Selection process

The candidates’ applications are examined and reviewed by the Selection Committee. Based on the submitted applications, the Selection Committee prepares a list of the candidates admitted to the competition and pass it to the Institute Director. The Selection Committee determines the ranking. If need be, the Selection Committee may ask the candidates to give presentations or invite them to interviews. At the session of the Scientific Council the Selection Committee presents a report on its activity with the justification for the choice of the candidate as the winner of the competition.
