The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the sales of research products and services. This role will be involved with a multifaceted and hard-working sales team passionate about developing new customers through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails within a defined territory. The ideal candidate will maintain effective customer relations, develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business within an assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory primarily by phone.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to develop account specific strategies.
  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers, incorporating this data in the business plan.
  • Manage pricing within the territory to control profitability.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for accurate management of territory.
  • Connect with supervisor on any customer issues or potential problems.
  • Inform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control.

Keys to Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a science biology, biotechnology, life science / technical field is strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of sales experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong telephone / email / video-conferencing communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively learn and use on-line CRM application and social media resources to grow territory.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability to work as a team member.
  • Excellent listening skills with a pleasant and confident manner at all levels of customer contact.
  • Tenacity and determination to exceed targets.
  • Good organizational skills with clear prioritization of short and long term tasks.
  • Accepts accountability and responsibility.
  • Fluent in English and local language.
  • Must demonstrate excellent proficiency in personal computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
