We are looking for an Import Specialist to join our team and manage end‑to‑end import operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and smooth inbound logistics. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Process customs clearance for incoming shipments by accurately managing import transactions in the Olympus customs system, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
- Prepare and verify import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate shipment collections and delivery schedules with logistics providers to ensure efficient inbound flow of goods.
- Maintain full visibility of import transactions by updating internal systems and stakeholders with real‑time status information.
- Generate and distribute regular status reports to track shipment progress and identify delays.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams, customs authorities, and external partners to resolve issues and provide timely updates.
- Notify relevant departments of customs goods arrivals and ensure proper documentation for inventory and compliance.
- Assign financial invoices to appropriate cost centers, ensuring accurate allocation of import‑related expenses.
- Troubleshoot customs clearance issues in collaboration with customs brokers and internal teams.
- Work closely with Purchasing and Warehouse departments to align delivery schedules and manage inventory flow.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in import and transport operations.
- Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Experience with import management systems and tools.
- Ability to prepare, verify, and manage import documents (invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations).
- Proactive communication with customs authorities, logistics providers, and internal teams.
- Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot customs clearance issues and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Ability to manage inbound logistics, monitor shipment status, and schedule collections.
- Skills in delivery planning and scheduling to minimize delays.
- Ability to identify potential disruptions in supply chain and import processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Strong organizational skills, accountability, and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
- University degree, preferably in logistics or business.
