Job Description

What You will be responsible for:

The IMA Accountant is responsible for daily accounting functions to ensure timely processing of clients instructions. The IMA Accountant serves as the point of contact for internal units providing services such as Custody, Corporate Actions/Income Management, Settlement, reconciliation, client administration, and external clients (distributors, Asset Management Companies, and Underlying Investors for Institutional Clients). They analyze received information, monitor client instructions and discrepancies, and resolve issues professionally.

Purpose Of Role:

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

ACCOUNTING/ADMINISTRATIVE EVENTS MANAGEMENT

• Processing client instructions
• Investigating client instruction exceptions
• Inheritance management
• Pledges management
• Client/Mandate reference data setup and maintenance queries

TAX AND REGULATORY REPORTING

• Preparation, control, and production of reports for Asset Management Companies

OTHER

• Complete IMA accountant checklist as per procedures
• Adhere to timelines
• Participate in departmental ad-hoc projects
• Assist in training and developing team members
• Recommend process improvements and document procedures

NON-TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

COMMUNICATION

• Resolve review points from senior accountants and supervisors
• Maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues

ORGANISATION

• Maintain proper filing, archiving, and adhere to desk policies

TRAINING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Set objectives with supervisors and update regularly
• Participate in appraisals and self-evaluations
• Take responsibility for personal growth
