Job Summary
Dar is seeking to recruit a softscape/horticulture to support the team of landscape architects. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of exciting Middle East landscape projects and form part of a wider multi‑disciplinary team, to whom they will collaborate closely with. The role will involve working within the landscape team and liaising with all the international offices.

Job Description
- Preparation of detailed planting plans and detailed schedule of species
- Creating signature and exciting planting schemes
- Provide expert horticultural advice to the Landscape team and other departments
- Upskill the Landscape team’s knowledge of horticulture with continued CPDs
- Liaise and collaborate with the wider international team on projects, providing planting ideas from concept through to detailed design
- Prepare and review planting plans
- Prepare and review planting schedules
- Prepare and review horticultural specifications
- Prepare and review landscape management and maintenance plans
- Assist with the design of horticultural projects including the design of both temporary and permanent nurseries
- Extensive plant knowledge (Middle East preferred)
- Assist in environmental assessments and studies
- Knowledge of forestry and woodland management
- Knowledge of procurement procedures
- Reviewing softworks drawings produced by others
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good time management – ability to prioritise and multi‑task; punctuality; working efficiently and with a good idea of how long each task takes to complete
- Commitment to continuous professional development and to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge
- Europe, Africa and Middle East experience is preferable
- Arboricultural and forestry knowledge
- Experience working on large scale projects, preferably in the Middle East
- Membership of a chartered institute
- Knowledge of aquatic plant communities
- Understanding and appreciation of sustainable landscapes, natural ecosystems and biodiversity
- Understanding and appreciation of the concepts of climate‑smart landscape and climate‑smart agriculture
- Skills in relevant IT software including CAD/Revit, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
