Head of Wholesale Economic Response Analytics Monitoring – Economic Capital, IFRS9 & ESG Modeling

HSBC is seeking the Head of Wholesale Economic Response Analytics Monitoring to design, implement, and oversee the monitoring framework for IFRS9, Economic Capital (EC), Stress Testing (ST), and ESG analytics models.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency and standardization of monitoring practices across model types, supporting the business and risk functions in evaluation and interpretation of monitoring outcomes.
• Lead presentation of monitoring insights to internal governance bodies and regulatory stakeholders.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration across modelling, risk, data, and governance teams.
• Enforce a consistent global approach to monitoring by aligning stakeholders, managing complex deliverables, and ensuring accountability across all model types.
• Contribute actively to committees such as the Global Model Oversight Committee, promoting transparency and clear communication of model performance and issues.
• Attend and participate in global and regional model committees, including the Global Model Oversight Forum and engagements with external auditors and regulators.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in model risk management.
• Strong focus on post‑model development monitoring and governance practices.
• Expertise in IFRS9, Economic Capital (EC), Stress Testing (ST), and ESG / environmental modelling.
• Leadership capability to build and lead global teams.
• Hands‑on experience in monitoring frameworks, GMIS platforms, and regulatory expectations.
• Proficiency in model lifecycle governance, including issue remediation, data lineage, audit tracking, and end‑to‑end monitoring documentation.
