About the project

This is a unique opportunity to lead a strategic technological transformation within a global financial services environment, driving an AI-first approach to modern software engineering. The organization is building a dedicated Service Modernisation & AI division to systematically eliminate technical debt, simplify architecture, and accelerate delivery through intelligent automation and next-generation development practices.

As Head of Technology, you will design and execute the transformation roadmap - leading a high-performing team of senior engineers to reimagine how enterprise-grade systems are built, modernized, and scaled with the power of AI.

Your responsibilities

• Leading the service modernisation roadmap to reduce technical debt and increase delivery velocity
• Overseeing the transformation of legacy systems into modular, API-first, and cloud-ready architectures
• Embedding AI-powered automation into development workflows to boost quality, performance, and team productivity
• Partnering with divisional technology leads to deliver modernisation as a service while maintaining operational stability
• Supporting platform engineering efforts by converting legacy services into reusable components and shared APIs
• Demonstrating measurable improvements in engineering efficiency, service reliability, and time-to-market

Our requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in a technical leadership role
• Proven experience in modernising complex, large-scale systems in production or regulated environments
• Strong architectural design and system-thinking capabilities, with the ability to simplify complexity
• Hands-on experience integrating AI and automation into the software delivery lifecycle (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, LLM APIs, etc.)
• Demonstrated success in delivering measurable productivity and performance improvements using AI
• Fluent English (spoken and written) and strong communication skills for working with international teams
• Willingness to travel internationally for short business trips and cross-site collaboration when required
• Residing in Poland required
