The HSE Dublin & South East was established as part of the Sláintecare program, combining South East Community Healthcare, Community Healthcare East, and the Ireland East Hospital Group, along with three hospitals from the South/South West Hospital Group: University Hospital Waterford, Tipperary University Hospital, and Kilcreene Orthopaedic Hospital. This regional health authority is responsible for providing both acute and community healthcare services across the region.
Head of Service - Finance
Location of post: There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available within Dublin and South East Regional Finance, which can be located in either Kilkenny or Carrickmines. The role requires regular attendance at regional and national meetings as needed.
A panel may be formed from this campaign to fill current and future vacancies of full or part-time, permanent or specified purpose, across the region.

The primary purpose of the Head of Finance role is to support the delivery of integrated financial and management reporting, contributing to the overall mission, vision, values, and strategy of the Health Region and the wider HSE.
The role involves ensuring high standards of financial processes, business intelligence, reporting, and compliance with best practices, utilizing IFMS, National Financial Shared Services, and National Procurement.
The successful candidate will provide meaningful and timely analysis of regional financial results to support high-quality health and social care services, address financial challenges, and ensure performance metrics and KPIs are achieved.
They will work closely with the Regional Director of Finance, IHA Managers, and regional finance teams to contribute to the National Service Plan, ensure completion of HSE-wide processes, and deliver all financial reporting requirements, including the review and input for the HSE Annual Financial Statements (AFS) process, with effective audit liaison with the C&AG.
