We are seeking an experienced risk management professional for the position of Head of Risk in the investment banking sector. The role will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks associated with the banks investment activities.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying Investment Risks: Evaluating potential threats linked to various investments, including market fluctuations, credit exposure, currency fluctuations, liquidity challenges, and operational issues.
• Conducting Risk Analysis: Performing comprehensive risk evaluations for different asset categories and investment approaches, utilizing methods such as sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and Value at Risk calculations.
• Assessing Risks: Determining the probability of risk events and their potential effects on the investment portfolio. Compiling reports and providing recommendations to the management and investment committee.
• Monitoring Risks: Continuously tracking investment risks and revising risk evaluations in response to evolving market and economic conditions.
• Managing Risks: Creating and implementing strategies to mitigate risks, including portfolio diversification, financial hedging, and establishing risk thresholds.
• Collaborating with Investment Teams: Partnering with portfolio managers, analysts, and other experts to comprehend and manage investment-related risks.
• Reporting: Generating regular reports on investment risks for the management, investment committee, and other relevant parties.
• Training and Development: Organizing training sessions and workshops for fund employees on investment risk management and fostering a culture of risk awareness within the organization.
• Managing a Team: Leading a team of risk specialists, supporting their professional growth, and ensuring effective teamwork.

Requirements:

• Higher education in finance, economics, management, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a risk/compliance management role within the investment banking sector.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of risk assessment tools and methodologies.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present complex risk information.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
