Job purpose

We’re looking for a Head of Intelligent Automation who doesn’t just manage automation; they reinvent it. You’re a rare blend of technical architect, sales‑savvy leader, and hands‑on builder who has shipped real‑world automation solutions and knows how to turn them into revenue.

You’ve been in the trenches: building RPA bots, integrating AI into workflows, and pushing legacy automation into the next generation, from RPA to APA (Agentic Process Automation). You don’t just talk about AI, you embed it. You’ve used platforms like Power Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism, or n8n to automate complex business processes and you’ve done it with AI models (LLMs, vision, classification, NLP) to make them smarter, self‑correcting, and scalable.

You lead teams with authority, but you can still write the first flow, debug the API call, and design the prompt whenever needed. You speak the language of both IT and the C‑suite, and you know how to turn automation into a strategic growth lever.

Responsibilities

• Drive Revenue: Identify, qualify, and lead sales opportunities. Partner with teams across Zurich to position automation as a high‑value business outcome, not just a cost saver.
• Elevate RPA to APA: Move beyond rule‑based bots. Build self‑learning, adaptive, decision‑driven processes that reduce human intervention to near‑zero.
• Technical Leadership: Be the go‑to expert for automation architecture, API integrations, AI/ML model deployment, and platform scaling. You’ll code, review, and mentor.
• Innovate: Design and prototype new automation use cases powered by generative AI, such as automated document processing, intelligent data extraction, AI‑powered exception handling, and conversational workflows.
• Lead & Build: Architect and deliver end‑to‑end Intelligent Automation solutions from discovery to deployment using Power Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism, or n8n, with deep AI integration (OpenAI, Azure AI, Google AI, etc.).

Candidate’s profile

• Proven Track Record: You’ve built and deployed real automation solutions (not just pilots). Bonus if they were in finance, insurance, or banking.
• Platform Expertise: Hands‑on experience with at least one major automation platform: UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate, or n8n.
• AI + Automation Fluency: You’ve integrated LLMs, computer vision, or classification models into workflows. You know how to prompt, fine‑tune, and evaluate AI outputs in production.
• Sales Mindset: You can pitch automation ROI to executives, write proposals, and close deals. You understand that automation is a product, not just a project.
• Leadership: You’ve led technical teams. You mentor engineers, set standards, and drive execution. You lead by doing.
• RPA/APA Visionary: You go beyond just task automation, you automate decisions. You’ve moved beyond “click this, copy that” to “decide this, act autonomously”.

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
